PROJECT NO BUY... Until I clean my room... and stuff.

I have been gawking over so many new items and I have really wanted to buy some new things because, well... I actually haven't been buying all that much stuff. So here I am, making wishlists for just about every store and then... I walk into my room. Holy shit. I really need to clean my damn room. So my wishlists can keep building but I am here to say I will not be buying ANYTHING until my room is clean. Now hopefully, I can get it done in a day *fingers crossed.* I don't want to bring new beauty items into a bathroom that isn't organized the way I like it, and I'll be honest with you... I haven't been home a lot so it isn't the cleanest. Let's just say there's a lot of shit that has piled up and just seems gross, not to mention unsanitary. I will be doing a THOROUGH clean and purge of items that I just don't use (watch for blog sales or look me up on makeupalley under auriebelle) or might just be too contaminated (obviously I won't be selling/swapping these). Why would I want to bring new beautiful goodies into a messy home? It's just disrespectful.

Now as far as fashion goes, the same does apply (my closets needs a makeover) but mainly with shoes and accessories. I have decided I'm not buying anymore clothing until I have lost more weight. I started my paleo diet back up (if anyone is interested in knowing more let me know- I lost 50 lbs in about 2 months!) and although there are maybe one or two items I don't want to miss out on (*ahem* unif suspender jumper), I think it would be WAY more rewarding and exciting to save up my money and go CRAZY when I'm down in size. It's going to be hard, but it's not like I'm really lacking in clothes. I'm sure I can make it work and maybe get some wear out of some items I haven't gotten much use out of- like shopping my closet stash ;]. Also, I'll have a lot of pieces going on ebay (Auriebelle), so go check that out! Lots of Free People, UO, fun vintage pieces, etc!

Wish me luck on cleaning/organizing and staying on my diet!

xx,
Aurie Belle

"Project Bathroom" 1

Alright, so I follow a lot of blogs and I've noticed a little thing called "project bathroom" and in case you don't know what it is... well I'll tell you. Basically, if you are like me and have TONS of products just cluttering up your bathroom, (bath, hair, makeup, skincare, etc) this is just a little challenge (?) to see if you can use up all of those before you buy anything else! So say you have 15 body butters, you gotta use all of those up before you buy a new one. I haven't been blogging long so I've collected A LOT. I'll probably be doing this once a month like "monthly empties" or as soon as the bag I keep fills up. So because I have collected so many empties for this first one I've divided them into three catagories; Body/Hygiene/Hair, Skin, and Makeup. (P.S. Excuse the lighting)

Shikai All Natural Shower Gel in Yuzu
I love this line! The shower gels are really moisturizing surprising enough. This scent is just absolutely amazing, gah! Love it, perfect fruity summer scent.  I get this line at Whole Foods but I've seen it occasionally in TJ Maxx. It's a really great natural line for a VERY good price (around $6) and really different/unusual scents. Would I buy again? Yes! And I have... in Honeysuckle :].
Lush Grass Shower Gel
This scent is amazing, it fills up your bathroom and it literally smells like fresh cut grass. It lasts a good while and is also very moisturizing. Would I buy this again? YES! Every spring I buy one of these, but I always have a Lush Shower Gel on hand.
Lush Dream Cream
This is a decent lavender scented body lotion. It's relaxing and comforting, however, I don't know if I think it's worth the price. It did the job but a big tub of this is $25! Would I buy again? Not sure, I think I'd spend the $25 on a few body butters from the Body Shop.
Lush Ocean Salt
Yes, we've all heard of this one. Lush Ocean Salt IS a great body scrub, however, I'm not the biggest fan of the scent. Well, I should say that I only actually like the scent in the summer. But it does do a great job. I'll remind you all that a big tub of this is a whomping $34.95! Would I buy again? Maybe in the summer, if I was going on vacation and needed a really good, abrasive body scrub.
Ion Overnight Repair Serum
This is a really good brand I think that gets overlooked (even by me), I think that has to do with it only being sold in Sally's Beauty. This is an overnight treatment for "weak, damaged hair" it's vegan and paraben free! I bought this the first time I ombred my hair last summer and I actually do think it helped a lot and didn't really leave my hair greasy the next morning (then again, I have REALLY dry hair). I would sometimes put a lot in my hair and use it almost as a hair mask and wash my hair the next morning and that was great! However, it took me a while to use it up so I'm unsure if I would use it again. I do love the idea of a night treatment for your hair though.
Rembrant Intense Stain Toothpaste/Listerine Total Care with Whitening Mouth Wash
These are my all time favorite teeth products? Haha. I drink A LOT of coffee, and these keep my teeth pretty damn white. I will ALWAYS repurchase The Total Care Wash because nothing has compared to it. However, Rembrant is SUPER expensive (about $7) so I really only buy this once in a while. It sounds funny to have a splurge on toothpaste to "treat yourself" but it is nice to buy some sort of luxurious product for your teeth, right?
Silk Elements Olive Oil Conditioner
I recently died over my ombre hair and this was a little packet by the register. Let me tell you all, go out and buy this little packet for 99 cents and try it. It's amazing. It made my hair so silky smooth and soft and my ends didn't look yucky! I'm seriously considering buying the full size.

 Bioderma
Yea, yeah- we all know what this one is. And yes- I will repurchase.
Origins Clear Improvment
Basically a really good clay mask, it doesn't irritate my skin and doesn't make me break out. I don't know if it really prevents breakouts because I don't really get full blown breakouts all that often (knock on wood). But I will say, I think it's a really quality mask. Would I buy again? I'd like to try more out there, but I'd consider getting this again.
Lush Eau Roma Water
I love the smell of this, it's great for sensitive skin but I don't know if it did too much to improve my skin. So I don't think I'd buy this again, unless it was just to spritz on my face in the summer when it gets hot at the pool/beach.
Acure Botanics Superfruit + Chlorella Eye Cream
Acure is a really great organic line that I find at Whole Foods. It isn't cheap, but isn't as expensive as other lines. This eye cream is really great. I used it with my RoC eye cream and I really did see an improvement in my dark circles. So yes, I think I would buy this baby again.
Alba Papaya Enzyme Facial Mask
I bought this because I wanted the Elemis Enzyme mask but that was super expensive. I heard good things about this one, and gave it ago. It does tingle on my face and sometimes I had to remove it because it was burning a bit. I think this is a great mask (it did make my skin look brighter) but I think it'd probably be better suited for someone who doesn't have sensitive skin, who's maybe more combination to oily.
Lush Ultrabland
I LOVE this stuff. It's like a balm cleanser, you massage the thick cream all over your face and I like to take it off with warm water and a washcloth (or muslin cloth if you have one). It takes off every bit of mascara and leaves your skin feeling so smooth and clean. It has no yucky ingredients and I think is just great for everyone. I think you all should give it ago. As soon as I'm done with my Origins Mega Mushroom Cleanser- I'm getting a tub of this again.
Origins High Potency Night-a-mins
This is a really lovely night cream. I have dry skin, so I love a thicker night cream. This one is incredibly soothing and I think is one of the better night creams I've used. I just am not a fan of the smell. However, I think I'd buy this again. It did what it said and my skin did look really nice in the morning and was really hydrated.
Yes to Tomato, Korres Milk Protein, and Olay Wipes
I don't really use wipes anymore but I used to be obsessed with them. I'll cut right to the chase, the best out of these 3 were the Yes to Tomato. However, I don't plan on buying any again. If I buy wipes again I'm buying the cheapy ones just for lazy nights or times where I might be somewhere where I can't wash my face before I pass out.

Chanel Concealer
Not really my favorite. I don't even think they make this anymore. It was just like a illuminating pen concealer and it did the job but it's nothing amazing. I'm just a sucker for Chanel.
Chanel Brow Gel
And clearly I'm a sucker for Chanel if I bought their brow gel. Honestly, it's great. But it's just as great as the next product I'm about to talk about.
ELF Brow Gel
It's $1. It's great. Simple as that. When I run out of the one I'm using right now (which I HATE) I'm going to buy one of these because their fantastic. I do find that they run out kind of quick, but you are only paying $1.
Rimmel Day to Night Mascara
Do they even make this anymore? Not sure. But it is a good mascara, if you want to sit there and build up your lashes and use a eyelash comb. I think it is a good dupe for the Mac Haute and Naughty Mascara, but I'm currently using that one and I do like it more.
Covergirl 24 Hour Mascara
No. It made my eyelashes a flat grey-color. And was IMPOSSIBLE to get off. Not to mention, it dried out really quickly. I think this would be a good mascara for someone who doesn't have much in the way of lashes or even blonde lashes. But if you do buy this, make sure you get a REALLY good eye makeup remover.

Phew! I am out of breath from all of those. Sorry it's so long, I bet no one goes through them all. But that was fun for me, I was reminded of some things that I loved- and now I'm excited to use more up so I can repurchase them! Alright I'm going to stop here, so thanks again!

Currently Loving

Alas, bored at work. What to do? Study? I should, but nah- I rather write a blog post on my current favorites and make a little set to go along with (lately my schedule has been so wonky so when I do have time to take actual photos- it's always too dark and let's face it, that flash is just icky).
First and foremost- my most loved and favorited right now or rather, ever, is WEEDS. OH GOD WHYYYYY, WHYYYYYY DOES IT HAVE TO END?! I'm missing the last show EVER tonight because of work and am so gutted. If you haven't seen this show and you aren't offended by sex, drugs, high heels, and iced coffee... you seriously must watch. I'll continue to watch the seasons over and over again (thanks Netflix!). It never gets old, Andy Botwin. You never get old. *cough* love me *cough*

I did recently pop into Bath and Body Works for some new wallflower plug. All the ones I currently have are too summery and I'm WAY into autumn right now for the smells of Coconut Leaves and Passionflower to be filling my room. The ones I've been loving lately are Black Pepper and Bergamot (I know. But trust me, go smell it) and Autumn Day. My room smells so woodsy and crisp. Love it!

Another great thing? Aromatherapy by Bath and Body Works Shower and Bath Gel- Eucalyptus Spearmint? I'm gonna let you guys in on a little secret. Hangover? Take a shower with this stuff, go to your room, turn on a fan and nap. It's amazing. But it's also just an amazingly relaxing scent. I use it when I've had a rough day and want to feel super clean or, obviously, am hungover. I'm almost out and I will be repurchasing, unless I find a new minty body wash I like more. I do love that this can also be used as bubble bath, but we'll see.

Currently I've been real into the Ren Skincare line. I use their eye cream, I tried their acne mask but I don't really have full blown acne so it was a bit useless to me. I bought their Resurfacing AHA Concentrate today. But what I've really been loving lately is their Micro Polish Cleanser. I love anything exfoliating and with glycolic acid and this has both! Their products are a bit on the expensive side but are 100% natural and really do work. I suggest giving their products a look!

One last thing is Lush's Mint Julips lip scrub. It works, it tastes good. It's great. I use it just about everynight before bed or a bit before I'm going out so my lipstick looks smooth and nice.

That's about it for now. No makeup because I'm giving my skin a bit of a break. Anywho- I just wanted to get this out there. What have your favorites been lately? Thanks guys! And stay tuned for a quick haul! :]

Fall Wishlist (September)

I woke up this morning, looked out the window and saw a few leaves falling off the trees and got really excited. Finally it's starting to look a bit more like fall. (Which is great, because I'm running out of summer outfits to wear and my legs are getting too pale for shorts). SOCKS, BOOTS, SOUP, HALLOWEEN HERE I COME.

Although, I'm trying not to spend money this month- there are a few things I'm allowing myself to get this month (mostly just the candles, hand soap, etc) and I have returned some items to Sephora I didn't like so I do have store credit for some of the other items. October is my birthday month so I might be going a little crazy, plus I'll have money saved up from September hah! Anywho- without further ado, here is my fall 2012 wishlist- September edition.

-A set of faux fur pillows and a somewhat matching furry blanket: I saw a photo on pinterest a bit ago of this amazing bedroom filled with art and it had these two amazing fur pillows on the bed. I've been on the search ever since to find 2 that won't leave my pockets completely empty. And a fuzzy blanket- just because it seems so nice to cuddle up with with a book or watching some fall guilty pleasures *ehem* Pretty Little Liars *ehem*

-Once I see the offer for 2 3-wick candles for $20 at Bath and Body Works... I'M OFF. My god, do I enjoy those candles. I haven't had a sniff of any of the new fall scents but Autumn Day sounds like it might be a winner. Along with that future trip I'm sure to pick up some hand soap and without a doubt a few new wallflowers. Sadly, I'm going to have to pack away all my coconut waters and sun tan scents until next year.

-Red studded booties. Alright so most of us have been drooling over the Susanna boots but shockingly- I don't have 1200 to splash on those babies. I've spent quite sometime looking for a more budget friendly option and I think missed out on the Jeffery Campbell Starbursts (let me know if you know of a place where I might be able to find them). Zara, however, has put out a similar pair and I've seen a few on ebay. Needless to say, a pair of red studded booties will be on my feet sometime this fall.

-A new denim jacket. I'm on the quest to find a nice denim jacket that is rustic, chic, and the right length. It sounds a lot easier than it is. Denim jackets can be a bit risky- I might have to splash on one to make sure I don't look like I'm in 6th grade again. Any recommendations?

-Another (and larger) Mexican Cocoa candle from the always great Pacifica Perfume. I bought a little one of these at my local Whole Foods last year (along with the actual perfume) to make sure the smell really did fill my room considering how pricy they are for a candle. And jeepers, it definitely did. It was so amazing. You think the Bath and Body Works candles are great? Try a Pacifica Perfume one. The scents are amazing, and I can tell you that I just had a little 3 oz one and it filled my whole room with the amazing scent. If you like spicy, warm, mysterious, magical scents- I highly recommend Mexican Cocoa. It is pretty much my favorite thing ever in the fall.

-OPI William Tell Me About It and San Tan-tonio

-MAC Lipstick in High Tea. I do have to try this on first but from all the swatches I've seen it seems so gorgeous. A great everyday color? Something that would be fantastic and modern with a smoky eye.

-YSL Rouge Volupté in Nude Beige. Yep, I still don't have one of these puppies. I'm fairly certain this is the color I want.

-Becca Beach Tint in Raspberry- Now that I can get these at Sephora I'm ecstatic. I've wanted to try them for so long and the Raspberry I think would be so gorgeous in the fall. So effortless, chic. I think it might give me the really romantic, Jane Austen-esque look that I'm so fond of. Hopefully I like it on me.

- A pair of leopard booties. Not too high of a heel, a good everyday height. Comfortable. Again, any recommendations?

- A new fall fragrance. Ok- this is more for October but I guess I just felt like adding it in there. For my birthday, I usually buy myself a new fragrance. Something decadent. That's why I'm looking at Burberry Body, Tom Ford Violet Blonde, or a new Jo Malone. *SIGH* So many choices.

Well that's about it guys, I hope you enjoyed my wishlist. What fall items are you guys looking forward  to? What are you wishing? What are you excited for? Thanks for stopping by! Have a super weekend and maybe I'll pop back in here with a haul towards the end of the month :].
